Arqum

FUNCTION:

Office Space

SIZE:

10.5 m²

CITY:

Munich

ACCOUSTIC IMPACT:

The average reverberation time has been reduced by 43% — from 1.298 seconds to 0.730 seconds, indicating high performance in reducing echo and improving acoustic comfort.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:

By installing 10.5 m² of hop-based acoustic panels, we repurposed 114.5 kg of hop waste that would have otherwise been used in biogas production, promoting more sustainable material cycles in interior design.

INSIGHTS AND TAKEAWAYS:

Arqum’s new office space was redesigned to create a natural, organized, and inviting atmosphere that promotes well-being and focus. By integrating our organic, hop-based acoustic panels, we achieved a harmonious balance between sustainability, functionality, and aesthetics. The panels' light, natural tone contributed to a fresh visual identity without overpowering the room, while their acoustic insulation properties significantly enhanced the auditory comfort of the space. This project exemplifies how bio-based materials can be seamlessly incorporated into modern interior design, delivering environmental responsibility without compromising on performance or style.
