NAME:
Hop Pavillion
FUNCTION:
Outdoor Exhibition and Experimental Learning Space
SIZE:
30 m²
CITY:
Munich
PROJECT INSIGHTS:
Designed as a full-scale demonstration of regenerative architecture, the Hop Pavilion showcases the potential of locally sourced biomaterials from the Munich brewing region. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, panels made from hop, brewer’s grains, and natural binders were developed and applied to a modular wooden structure. This project highlights the integration of agricultural by-products into innovative building components, reducing material waste and emissions. The result is a pavilion that merges design, sustainability, and circular material thinking — proving how local, bio-based resources can shape the future of construction in a low-impact, high-performance way.
